About Al-Hirz Institute
Incepted through the endeavors of Shaykh Okasha Kameny and actualized through the efforts of his closest team members, Al-Hirz Institute is a multileveled organization that seeks to spread Islamic Knowledge throughout the world. Providing programs to masajid, weekend seminars, and on-site/online courses, Al-Hirz exists to raise the level of knowledge amongst the Muslims in America and abroad. Our Institution also seeks to provide much needed and affordable counseling to Muslims and help the youth be confident in their Islamic Identity in these troubling times. With the guidance of The Qur’an and Sunnah, we hope to provide light in these dark times and elevate the level of knowledge of the Ummah, with the permission of Allah ‘Aza wa Jal.
AHI is a 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization. Our Institution is taken care of through offering Islamic Services On-Site and Online; while we do not fundraise in communities’ masaajid and Islamic Schools to avoid taking away from their resources, we rely exclusively on classes/services and donations to continue to spread authentic Islamic Knowledge. These services allow us to film/record and share content for free via our YouTube Channel as well as enhance the educational experience for our students locally and around the world. Shaykh Okasha Kameny

Shaykh Okasha Kameny became a Hafidh at a very young age, but he did not know he had memorized the Qur’an until his teachers told him so after testing him.
Allaah has blessed him to have sat under the feet of several contemporary scholars of the Islamic Universities Madinah, Azhar, Sudan, Ghana). His teachers include Shaykh Dr. Mubarak Al Mughrabe (Madinah), Shaykh Dr. Abdul Razzaq Ishaaq (Madinah), Shaykh Muhammad Tahir (Sudan), Shaykh Dr. Atiyyah al Misry (Azhar), Shaykh Dr. Ali Abu Hashim (Azhar), Shaykh Zain ud Deen Abdul Mu’min (Ghana), and many others
He has memorized (with immaculate accuracy) dozens of major classical works from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Alfiyyah ibn Malik to Ash-Shatibiyyah, Al-Bayqūniyyah, Al-Ghazaliyyah fi Alqāb al Hadith, Manzoumat As-Sabbān Fil Hadith, Umdat Al-Fiqh, Lāmiyyah Ibn Mālik, Al Jazariyyah, Nunniyah, As-Shakhaawiyyah, Aqeedah At-Tahawiyyah, Kitab at Tawheed, and more.
He is an expert in the fields of Qur’anic Sciences (Qira’at, Ar-Rasm and Aadil Ayy) and Arabic language (grammar, rhetoric). He has Ijaazat in the 10 modes of Qur’an recitation.
The most important quality of Shaykh Okasha is his character, may Allaah preserve him. Aameen.
He is a great resource for Imaams, scholars and teachers in the West who are aware of the depth of knowledge that Allaah has endowed him with.
He currently teaches students of knowledge from different parts of the world.

About Dr. Umar Sallaw
Dr. Umar has been blessed by Allah to complete medical school and become a licensed physician. He has used his extensive Islamic Studies ranging from comparative religious studies and Da’wah to Tafsir, Fiqh, and ‘Aqeedah, to focus on understanding and teaching Prophetic Medicine in conjunction with Modern Medicine. With Allah’s permission, he has been blessed to travel throughout the world spread a message of holistic healing as well as empowering Muslims with the tools necessary for effective Da’wah.
Dr. Umar has now joined AHI to help make Prophetic Remedies to everyday ailments accessible to the world. He also assists with Islamic education beyond Prophetic Medicine; covering a wide array of topics ranging from modern-day affairs and the timeless solutions found in the Qur’an and Sunnah, to spreading the message of peace to our non-Muslim brothers and sisters in mankind. He is a vast resource in many areas and we are blessed to have him with us – May Allah bless him and keep him strong: Allahumma Aameen!
About Ustadh Isa ibn Matta
Through the Bounty of Allah, Ust. Isa embraced Islam in 2013. Since then he has had the honor to study under over a dozen Shuyookh ranging from such esteemed places of knowledge such as the University of Madinah, Azhar University, Morocco, Pakistan, India, and Palestine. His greatest connection is with Shaykh Okasha Kameny who took Ust. Isa under his tutelage a few years after he embraced Islam.
He now teaches and leads youth programs on the east coast as well as for AHI at various masaajid and schools in the US. Prior to Islam, Ust. Isa majored in Psychology and Philosophy with concentrations in Communications and English; after becoming Muslim he continued his secular studies to study the Arts as well as do Project Management Professionalism and certifications in Mental Health. In his time with Shaykh Okasha Kameny, Ust. Isa has been blessed to study the Holy Qur’an, Arabic, Qira’aat, Tafsir, Taareekh, ‘Aqeedah, and Tajweed. He has been able to complete some ijaazaat and is working to complete several more under Shaykh Okasha Kameny with Allah’s help. May Allah bless and preserve them both: Aameen!
